Gigem's list is spot on probably.

If you look at their time as a Ranger versus total career, wouldn't Charlie Hough be a better all time starter than Nolan Ryan? Obviously Ryan is all universe, but most of those numbers didn't come as a ranger.

Jeff Huson is, at best, I think, about 4th in line for the All-time Rangers shortstop.

Michael Young is the man, but you have Toby Harrah going back a few decades and heck, even Elvis Andrus over Huson makes sense.

The interesting question is what you would say about Alex Rodriguez. No one wants to acknowledge him, but if we're praising the 3 or so years Nolan Ryan was a productive member of the Rangers pitching staff, you have to consider where Alex Rodriguez would stand in that shortstop pecking order.

A-Rod's three years on the team were incredibly good---the best 3 year-run of any Ranger ever, perhaps?

Can you even fill out a Rangers roster if you don't include steroid users?

I think Beltre at 3rd is the right choice.

Dean Palmer would have a better claim if he had stayed healthy. He was on track for some great seasons but struggled to stay in the lineup.

I'd put Josh Hamilton at CF over Ruben, mostly because I just don't consider Ruben a CF at all. Played a handful of games there as a rookie and that was basically it. While Josh wasn't exactly a full time CF, he did log 300+ games out there for the Rangers.

Julio Franco over Kinsler?

What's funny is looking at some of the players that have worn a Ranger's uniform at some point that were really good/great players or had some really productive years with other teams. Just thinking off my head...
