So how much should I bid for Mazara in my fantasy league? We have to place a waiver claim and it goes to the highest bid. $100 per team, but I'm down to 84. I could really use outfield help.

Not much unless you can stash him in a keeper league.

They are paying Choo $14M and Desmond $8M. You think they will bench either of them to keep Mazara in the game?

I don't know that he is a CF.

He is 20.

Choo hasn't been put on the DL, although that could be coming.

I didn't see his ABs, but normally a new callup gets mostly fastballs, then get mostly breaking stuff. So, an early good start could find a huge slump once the holes are found in his swing. ie the scouting report makes it's rounds.

Yep. Just look at what Gallo did after his first couple games. Granted he is a lot more of a hit or miss kind of batter.

Thanks for the advice guys. I won him and probably paid too much, but I can stash him for next season because it is a keeper league.

Any updated thoughts on Mazara from Ranger (or other) fans? I own him in a keeper league and am having a hard time with valuation.

He's a guy that's improved at every level and he's clearly way too good for AAA at this point. The common assessment I've seen is that he can be a .280/30 guy for a long time. And maybe the .280 is underselling him.

But what happens when Choo gets back?

When Choo and Hamilton come back I think we'd send Rua first then Delino. Even with Alberto's really poor hitting he has value being able to play every infield position. Tricky situation we have for now, but these things work themselves out. Even if he gets sent down, I wouldn't expect it to be for very long. I imagine we will see Choo in RF, Desmond in CF, and Mazara in LF once everything settles.

I can't imagine him being sent down the way he's hitting. I got him in a keeper league for $2 so I'll be holding on to him unless I can deal him for a kings ransom while his value is high

Saw an update on Hamilton and he is not coming back as soon as once projected (surprise, surprise...). He was going to be playing in Round Rock this weekend, but had a "setback". Don't remember the exact details, no telling what the new timeline will be. I don't see him as much more than a pinch hitter and occasional spot starter in Arlington, he can't stay healthy enough to stay in the lineup anymore. Thank goodness the Angels are picking up most of the tab on his salary
