In watching the tenth inning of today's Rangers Mariners game, Jake Diekman from the Rangers threw 3 high fastballs at 97 MPH in a row to Lee for the Mariners. Lee missed the first, fouled the second and was right on it. Then at 0-2 he threw the same pitch again and watched it sail 415 feet into the left center field bleachers. I do not think that this was a "mistake" pitch, although it appears as such when you see the homer highlight.
I did not see Diekman shake a sign, so I assign blame to him for not shaking the catcher and the catcher for calling the pitch.
In this case it also could be the Rangers coaching staff as there is a rookie catcher that has never caught Diekman before so that call could have come from the bench.
Supremely ticked that in a division that is going to come down to just a few games to give one away on pride. Swallow it, throw a ball in the dirt, and you last another inning.
