We chartered through iYachtClub in May 2021 and were extremely pleased with the process, boat and crew. Super fun trip!

We've used Moorings and TradeWinds. Would and will use either in the future.

We have used moorings and Navigare and been happy with both. Wedid a bareboat charter though, so can't comment on a crewed one.

I'll say is it's a fantastic trip no matter how you do it and you should go.

Used Moorings last year and it was best vacation I've ever experienced.

Those of you that have been...if you could only pick one would you go with BVI or USVI? Thanks!

Interested as well. Can anyone share what the ballpark cost is for crewed?

BVI was closed to us last year due to the 'Vid.

Smallest cat, officially sleeps 6 + crew of 2, was about $11k all in I think.

So that trip was USVI last year? How many nights?

We have sailed on Moorings in FP and Croatia and were very satisfied. However y'all probably need to do your due diligence for BVI based on recent events. http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/news/bvi-customs-seize-184-charter-boats-issue-stiff-fines-for-array-of-violations/article_47cb3a2a-235d-5f6e-9328-c387a7d2c6e1.html

Wife is on the BVI Facebook page and apparently a lot of people pissed over canceled trips.

Just did a bareboat out of Tortola in January via moorings.

They have an amazing facility and they are close to a good grocery store for provisioning.

We will be using Moorings again out of Croatia. Impressed with their service and no hassle approach.

We sailed to Anegada. It was the highlight of the trip. I also recommend Saba Rock.

Are you sailing out of Split (Marina Agana)?

Have done charters in the BVI 5 times starting in '98 and most recently in '18. Islands did a HARD shut down over Covid and was still recovering from a monster hurricane since. That said I love the BVI, it's a special place and unique in so many ways. Had a trip booked in the Summer of '20 that was cancelled and have not been able to go back. Almost went to the USVI last year instead (no Covid restrictions really) but it didn't work out in the end.

My favorite charter company experience has been with Horizon Yacht Charters. That said the ownership and status of all of them changes. Best deal overall though is to use owner's time. My last trip was booked that way before Covid killed it. Much cheaper and lots of little perks. I used Jenny Goya at Owners Time Charters.

The BVI has changed a lot over the years and I honestly don't know how it is post Covid. Some of the best kept secrets have gotten out a bit too much last visit but they may have adjusted back. Jost Van Dyke is a fantastic island. Foxys, Ivan's, and the Soggy Dollar Bar are all really special. I loved Foxy's Taboo and Little Harbour better last time though, less crowded. Little Harbour has 2 awesome little lobster restaurants. Anegada has a lot of the feel of what the BVI used to be. Lots of great little spots everywhere though.

USVI is different, lots more people but still really nice. Just depends on what you want.

I haven't booked it yet.
Honestly I want to go back to the BVI but the other three want to go to Croatia. I am dragging my feet a little.
Europe needs to get in a better mood and loosen the Covid restrictions before I spend more money there.

Croatia had very minimal Covid restrictions when I was there last summer during the peak of Covid paranoia, so I seriously doubt it would be a problem there now.

We've done BVI pre COVID and felt like we'd seen it all....plus it was fairly crowded. We wanted to do Bahamas this year but didn't want to take a chance on the country shutting down again at the wrong time...

So we just did Puerto Rico for a week in Jan. on a 48' cat and I'm ready to go back. Very underrated cruising grounds if you like solitude and deserted anchorages. Not great for nightlifers. Our captain came over from St Thomas not knowing what to expect and he said he was blown away... He never expected it to be this cool.

Went last summer to BVI. Google The Big Dog BVI. Ruth and Terry were amazing. Can't wait to go back.

We have a charter already booked with CareFree Charters. Issue is the BVI lockdown has taken that part of our charter off the books and we will only sail the USVI.

Bummed but our contract has us by the nuts.

I've done the BVI trip several times. We are booked a bareboat for 2/2024 with two other couples.

Check out The Wandering Hillbilly, pretty good insights on BVI trips.

My wife and I love the VI but we MAY be too old for beach trips now. But we may have one more charter trip in us so I am keeping this for good info.

Got back from a bareboat charter to the BVI in June. It was great. Definitely getting more busy than it was on 21 when we went, but that also means most things are open again. Still highly recommend.
