Interesting never thought about it but after that Sandals stuff …..

We use First Alert and haven't had any issue.

Edited to add: We're actually glad we got it. Last March we were staying in a cabin w friends and they left the fireplace running in their room not realizing the room wasn't venting. At about 8:45am once we were all up moving, the CO alarm started going off. They had no idea how dangerous what they did was and I'm really glad we had the monitor. It's was a wake up call for sure. Could've been bad bad bad.

Before our Cabo trip this summer I just got a First Alert at Lowe's. It plugs in and has a battery back up. We didn't die.
