I am planning a trip next April. Does anyone have a travel agent they recommend?

Are you doing a guided tour with a group, or piece-meaning it together?

I've done some Ireland/England but not a ton. I typically do flights, hotels, rail if I'm not doing an escorted group type trip. I don't get involved in the daily planning.

I just booked Globus tours for clients in Scotland this past week.

Thanks I am really looking for someone who can help book local tours. We are making a list of the things we want to do and would like to take day trip tours.

Completely understand. I should be able to do that as well. I'd you want another agent I can refer you someone in town who has been in the business I think more than 20 years. I can't state how good her work is but I refer many things over to her. You can email me and I can send you her info.

We used Colwick travel to assist with our Ireland-England trip in July.

They in turn leveraged Brendan Vacations for the Ireland portion. Brendan seems well known and respected and our trip went off without any hitches or glitches.

In England, we used Colwick for the hotel booking only and that was not particularly necessary. What was awesome though was our booking private tours with Luxury Vacations UK for London day tours, a specialized tour to Glastonbury, Avebury and Stonehenge, and the best experience ever at the British Museum.

Happy to share more if interested.

We booked our own tours for half of our trip. Used Galway Tour Company for a couple day trips in Galway. Also took the ferry over to Inishmore. Very easy to do on the internet. Used a private driver the rest of the time. Booked the driver through Emerald Irish tours.

i know this is not exactly what you asked for, but we used private guides in England and Ireland. Not having to worry about driving made our vacation much more relaxing. We used Anne Mark of Marksman Travel in London and Liam Bourke in Ireland and both were excellent. We saw more than we ever could have done on our own. They often took us off the beaten path to show us things most tourists miss. They would plan and call ahead and everything was ready to go when we got there. Plus, everyone at restaurants, hotels etc. knew them and we got lots of special treatment.

If I was in a country that drove on the "right side" of the road I would do it myself. But in this instance I found having private guides was a much better experience.
