Have an interesting one and would value crowd sourcing ideas here.

I have business in northern Brazil the week of November 12-16, I then have to be in Poland November 20-23. I am reluctant to come back to America for what would be ~30 hours or so however there is a flight from Northern Brazil to Portugal that could have me in Lisbon on Friday the 17th pretty early in the morning.

Where would you spend the weekend in Europe? I have never been to Italy so I am considering going there to be a fatty and eat, I'm also considering Prague for the Christmas Market, looking for other places to consider so I can finish my bookings.

First time to Europe?

By that time in November, I would think the Christmas Markets would be open in Germany/Austria.
3 days isn't a lot to do much more than 1 city throughly.
Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Munich, maybe even London.

Are you interested in History or just Food & Drink?

No, I have been to a lot of the more touristy places. Several times to London, Aberdeen, Newcastle. I don't think I have too much interest in Paris, have been to Frankfurt, Munich, Athens, Krakow, Madrid.

Agree just one city would be my focus wherever I end up. I am interested in History (Considered Rome) however I have friends saying for foodie go further south?

Disappointed in myself for misspelling thoroughly.

Rome and the Vatican can consume 3 days easily.

Further South, are you thinking Naples, Pompeii, or Amalfi Coast?

I'd go to the Azores. Sao Miguel or one of the other islands. Should be easy to get to Lisbon for most of them.

From Lisbon, take the train to Madrid or Barcelona. I don't like snow, so I wouldn't want to go too far north. You also need to think about packing. You are going from the southern hemisphere in summer to northern hemisphere in winter. Maybe you can mail your parka to poland, or mail your summer clothes back from Brazil.

This is a bit dramatic. Poland can get cold and snowy but it is highly unlikely you need a parka in late November especially if you are staying in one of the cities. Puffer coat and a wool hat or stocking cap or 2 and you'll be fine.

I live over here. Brazil to Poland is an awkward trip. Just factor in cities where you have the most direct flights between your destinations and your choice will probably make itself really.

Why not just stay in Lisbon and visit Sintra. TAP has a direct flight to Warsaw from Lisbon.

Stay in this Pousada. On the grounds of the national palace and close to Sintra and Lisbon.

If you want more of a golf and resort feel look into Penha Longa. Right by Sintra.

With only three days just spend it exploring Portugal.

Should you have already explored it, then visit Lyon. Off the beaten path for most Americans. Also the culinary capital of France. Lots of Roman ruins as well.

For only 2-3 days, if you have never been then I would go to Rome or Prague

Yeah man, you might think about this. With 3-days you might end up blasting a full day with travel.

Agree with sticking to Portugal if you've never been there. Lisbon and Porto are both worth 2-3 days. You won't go wrong with either.

I agree with Azores. Great food, wine, hiking and great people with direct flights to the US. Depending on the time of year this is also an amazing spot for whale watching including Blue whales which is on my bucket list to see.

My vote would be Barcelona or Rome. Both will still be reasonably warm, have outstanding food, and solid public transportation. I've used private tour guides for both places and they can definitely help maximize your time and point you to the best restaurants.

Prague Christmas market doesn't start until Dec 2nd, which is pretty typical timing for other cities / countries as well.
