I've always wanted to visit Palm Springs, mostly to golf, but also cycle and sight see. For those of you that have been there before, what are some other activities or things to do that you would recommend?

Just got back. Above suggestions plus check out the aerial tramway, see the midcentury modern celebrity and otherwise homes, Tacquiz canyon waterfalls hike, have lunch at iconic Spencer's restaurant, catch a Firebirds hockey game, enjoy the weather and the pools, golf. A wonderful place.

Also there are so many fantastic restaurants and shopping. Cary Grant's former home Copley's is wonderful and Johnny Costta's still has great Italian. (A favorite of Frank Sinatra). Farm is one of the best French restaurants I've been to and it is right in the downtown Palm Springs plaza.

What are the recommendations about lodging?
Is there anything to consider as it relates to proximity to activities?

We stayed at Omni rancho las palmas for the tennis tourney several years ago. Going again this year but got an airbnb. there's a million golf courses everywhere. Omni had one on site. It was a nice property and a lot of restaurants near by as well. We took the gondola up to the San Jacinto state park and ate at the restaurant up there.

As stated first part of March would be crazy and expensive due to the tennis tourney so keep that in mind.

We have stayed at a hilton resort in cathedral city but on our last trip we stayed at an air bnb condo in palm desert and that was great with the full use of the condo's resort..pickleball, tennis, swimming etc.
