Flying into San Jose Costa Rica airport and looking for recommendations on ground transportation to a hotel in Jaco (and back). Any recommendations for a trusted ground transportation would be appreciated.

I looked into this exact scenario a few months ago. After getting several recommendations from facebook, I found that this was a common request. Some of the Jaco hotels will even assist with this. At the end of the day, I decided that I would still prefer the freedom that a rental provides, so we did not go that route.

There are several facebook groups in Costa Rica that may provide some good names. I am a '94, so I am an old and can still use facebook.

I've been researching Costa Rica for a trip this summer. I ran across a website from some locals that's been pretty useful… they assist with car rentals and private transport.

Used this guy with great success and a lot of expats do too. He gets super cheap rates from Alamo.

Also, I don't think there's a small airport next to Jaco, but if going other places Sansa airlines was great and really cheap. Just make sure you don't have too much luggage as really small planes.

Definitely recommend MyTanFeet for booking a rental car or car service. Family of 5 (baby, 3 and 5 year old) visited La Fortuna (Tabacon)and Tamarindo (Airbnb) back in June 2023.

Someone in Tamarindo joked that Jaco was for hookers and blow.

People in Tama-gringo would say that.

Prostitution is legal there so not a problem for that one. As far as blow, I have had it offered in both Jaco and Tamarindo. Didn't partake on any of the occasions and it is everywhere. US is just as bad.

If you want to rent a nice van that holds up to six passengers, call Costa Rica Dreamakers.

The cost is around $ 280 rountrip

Once your in Jaco , taxis are cheap ( $3-$5) for a mile trip
