We booked a family vacation to Turks this coming summer. Staying at the Beaches resort with two kids ages 10 & 13. We're trying to plan our time… Any recommendations on what to do or what to avoid while we are there?

We enjoy taking the ferry to Middle Caicos and renting a jeep. A good way to break up the trip and avoid the crowds. Also, several nice spots in that area. You can bring some snacks and drinks from beaches, but there are a few restaurant usually open (we like Mudjin Harbor as a stop).

Assuming you will not have car, make sure you have your Cab Drivers contact info for the return trip.

Did a travel agent help you or did you book direct? Looking at going for a family of 4 as well, and cheapest room for a week is 10k. Is that the going rate for Beaches in T&C?

Did a 5 day with the kids this summer. I wish I had some pointers but the entire trip was awesome and we did whatever sounded fun that day. Never really left - didn't feel the need.

To the other poster about $10k; "Welcome Home" to Beaches T&C lol. Everything is top notch but it ain't free.

Edit - watch your flights. There are days I couldn't get a direct flight from Houston but could get one coming home. It's apparently a thing and we booked hotel first and didn't figure out the flights so had a layover in Miami. Nothing terrible, just inconvenient when you know there are directs on other days.

Just making sure price is right range as I've never looked at Beaches T&C so was looking for context. Appears it's the going rate. Thanks!

Probably about average these days and there is no reason to really get an upgraded room unless you really need/want to.

We did it last May with our kids. It was really great. We never had a reason to go off property. The only thing I can think is that if you want to do a bigger snorkel or catamaran then use a 3rd party. You can go through Beaches but it is just offshore. Also we did parasailing which was 3rd party as well. Only thing that sucked was everyone saving chairs at the pools and beach. I wish they would reinforce policy more on that.

Yes, for Beaches resorts $10K is about average for a family of 4 or 5.
Beaches Turks and Caicos is favorite though and Grace Bay Beach is spectacular.
