Looking to book a short trip down to the coast for a couple of days of fun and bay fishing with the family. We're thinking of sometime the week of March 9-16. Because the wife and three kids are going, I'm going to need slightly better accommodations and something decent to do when we're not fishing. It's been years since I did any decent bay fishing, so would really appreciate a recommendation on location, accommodations and a guide if at all possible. Kids are 16, 13 and 9we're not fishing professionals or looking to wade fish or anything, just something fun to do where we can get into some good fish. Also, we'll likely be driving from BCS and would probably not be looking to travel as far south as the Laguna Madre. Appreciate it!

Yeah, you may find it difficult. I am good friends with the chefs and owners of La Pesca Lodge. Give them a call. You wont be disappointed if they have openings.

I have a house you can rent in Rockport. It's a great neighborhood for kids. There's plenty of room to ride bikes and scooters around the neighborhood. Community pool is a quick walk across the street. There's plenty to do for your wife and kids in the Rockport/Aransas Pass area.

I can't help you with a guide, as we take our own boat out. As others have said most are probably booked, and the ones that aren't booked are probably not very good.
