going next week to Anchorage, staying downtown. any tips, restaurants, etc? will have car and about a day and a half to sightsee other than the 2 day class I am teaching....

49th State (beer & typical dinner spot)
Wild Scoops (ice cream - get it Baked Alaska)

You can always get some reindeer sausage downtown.

The Alaska Native Heritage Center was pretty cool. We did a private tour and got tons of great information.

Club Paris for old school fun. A restaraunt near to captain cooks statue is. Great cocktail scene. Athletic club at captain cooks hotel for spritz and workout.

Darwin's Theory for a great dive bar.
