Anyone have recommendations on location and lodging in or near Shanendoah NP?

Not opposed to cabins - just need to be able to sleep 4

There are two lodges in the park that are motel style. One is Big Meadows Lodge, the other is Skyland. They are not fancy, but more than adequate. You'll find them super convenient to all the hikes you want to do.

Lots of VRBO options in Luray at varying budget options. We've done several, though only sleeping 3 so not exactly what you're looking for.

Also it's Shenandoah

Another vote for luray. Stayed in a wonderful airbnb 10 minutes from town but felt rural

From what I remember from my AT thru-hike years ago, I remember Skyland being the "high-end" lodge in the park. I didnt stay there but remember they had a decent restaurant.

We stayed at Skyland. Worked out well since we beat Florida that day and I got to the restaurant just in time to see the game winning FG.

Both restaurants are about the same and equally as good.
