I'll be in Anchorage next week in between trips to Wrangell NP and Katmai NP.

I know about and have eaten at Moose's Tooth but I'm looking for a gastropub rec.

Anyone been to either Glacier Brewhouse or 49th St Brewing? Or Whisky and Ramen?

If you have another local place I'm all ears.

Yes. We went to Humpys when they were full one night. That was a solid bar/pub.

Simon and Seaforts has a fantastic bar area.

Simon and Seaforts is the place for seafood.

Glacier and 49th are both cool spots with good food. I like the vibe and beer better at 49th. The food is better at Glacier and it's a little nicer if that's what you're looking for.

Whisky & Ramen was also on our list, but we didn't make it over there. Did a walk by and it looks really nice. Tent City Taphouse is another good option, but it's a little outside that footprint you laid out.

I was going to recommend the Moose's Tooth

My other recommedation is a tiny taco place called El Jeffe...it was 2021 so hopefully it's still there. We ate there each day we were in Anchorage

Have a blast on your trip....Wrangell and Katmai are both magical places!

In Kennecot overlooking the glacier there was a permanent food truck in town caled the MeatzaWagon....best panini I've ever had...it was some sort of pesto something or other. Then in McCarthy there is a place called the Potato...it was good too

Went to Glacier last month & it was great. Get a resy if you can bc it's pretty popular

its a recent development for him. Food was significantly better before he bought it.

49th St is solid. Diverse menu, solid brew and a very long bourbon and rye list.

Do not ever walk in to Tent City Taphouse. The menu looked nice but it's small, most seating is either at a bar or window ledge and their web site blows. It doesn't work at all and no way to even find if they take reservations. We walk up, and the first question is "do you have a reservation?" I'm like dude, your website is ****e and it doesn't even give a way to do that. We end up sitting outside and it immediately starts raining. We get up to leave without ordering and the guy was indignant. It may be great food and beer but I wouldn't give them the time of day.

I had been before but breakfast at Snow City Cafe is a must.

Just got back as well. 49th State was a cool spot. There was an Aggie working there as well.

Humpys was a good setting. Food was ok. They overcooked my salmon, which I think is a crime up there.

Peanut Farm was really cool. Only had some appetizers and drinks. Apps were good.

907 Alehouse was a large neighborhood sports bar. I really liked it. The food was great.

Sami's Diner was a great diner breakfast.

Forgot one. Mooses Tooth was really crowded. Food was good, but not really worth the wait. Not the worst place in the world to wait, so that was not too bad. I don't really get the hype. I will give it a good, not great.

is this the pizza spot? We had a very late flight so checked our bags at the airport then took a cab here. A lot of pizza and beers later made for a very drunky flight to Atlanta for a wedding.

Yes, it is the pizza spot.
