Please post contact info for recommended agent to put a large group trip together for Amalfi/Southern Italy. 5-9 couples. No kids going on trip, 40th bday trip for my wife and our friends. With the fact we all have children I'm certain some couples will have to back out so I don't want to be on the hook for a $30K airbnb for the week, so leaning towards hotel blocks in a few different cities around Amalfi area to allow for variance in attendance.

I would like someone familiar with the area as we'd like a day on a boat out to Capri, wine and vineyard tours/tastings, and cultural and food experiences( we enjoy learning about culture and farm to table experiences). I've had good success with Viator, but personal, first-hand recommendations would be ideal.

I would love to assist in this as one of my specialties as a travel advisor is Italy. I wanted to include some of my personal travel pictures from this summer of my 18 days in Italy. I also have a wonderful private boat captain in Capri that is fantastic. My contact info is in my signature

Can't help with a travel agent, but is there a reason you want to move around the peninsula to stay in different towns? Stay in Positano, the best of the towns on the coast, and day trip around the area. It's not that geographically spread out. You might convince me to spend a couple of nights in Sorrento first (Bay of Naples side of the peninsula) then move on to Positano.

I also recommend a day trip to Pompeii. Not that far from either Positano or Sorrento, but I'd plan an early start and a full day.

Also as part of your boat trip to Capri, do the Blue Grotto and go on the row boats into the cave no matter if it's cloudy or not. It was cloudy and we had read "it's not as good when it's cloudy", so we chose to stay on the main boat and regretted our choice after hearing from those that went.

NE PA, thanks for the recommendation of Positano. My reasoning for multiple cities was not understanding the geographical relativity/feasibility of day trips. Is 4-5 nights in Positano enough if we wanted to see Rome too for a couple of nights. As always.....sounds like we won't have enough time and may be trying to squeeze too much in.

Brooke, I'll reach out. Thanks!

5 nights might be stretching it. You'll want a day with your group to be driven up the coast and see the various towns beside Positano (Amalfi, Ravello, etc), a day for Capri and a day for Sorrento. Add in Pompeii and that's 4 solid right there. I'd want another day to explore Positino more and possibly a return visit up the coast.

That said, I love Rome too for a couple of days, especially if you are flying in and out of there, add 2 nights to see all the big stuff for sure and skip Pompeii if that's too many day trips during your Amalfi coast stay.

Edited to add, if you do one day trip, the coastal drive is a must. It's the whole reason you are there! Stunning drive to go with the great towns.

Go to my thread "12 Day Tour Of Italy - Long Post" if you want a summary of our summer trip to Italy that included Positano, Capri, and Rome.

We stayed in Positano for two nights/3 days. I though that was plenty of time for Positano. We also went to Capri for a day. Capri was one of our least favorite cities on the trip - very crowded and a lot of hustling by the local men. We took a private boat tour of the coast (got scammed a bit as I told him we wanted to go to the Blue Grotto as well). I paid him a little more to go the the grotto. The Blue Grotto scene is crazy and another shake down to get inside. It can also be very dangerous if waves get to the top of the grotto. Don't go on a big boat to the grotto - you will wait hours and maybe not even make it inside. Take a private boat and your captain will wedge his way in to the canoe operators and get you in pretty fast.

If you can get Rome on your itinerary, I would absolutely do it. I really like Rome - but it can get crowded.

Wishing you the best of times on your trip.
