Headed to AL for a quick work trip end of next week. Flying in/out of BHM. Not looking for anything too crazy but figured I'd drop a line to here to see if there are any can't miss type of places in the area. Will be bouncing between Birmingham and Montgomery if that helps.

I mean, if you've never been to one.

Anything in mind? I'd say Saws BBQ (the soul kitchen location), Red Pearl for Chinese. There's a great Mexican buffet (not tex mex) in the Mi Pueblo supermarkets (Greensprings location for sure, not sure about Pelham).

Not really up for anything. Have seen those cook out places before but never stopped.

BHM actually has a good food scene. Depends on budget and what you are into, but below are a few local eateries we really enjoy

Slim's Pizza - cool ambiance and great pizza/drinks
Tasty Town - Mediterranean
Saws Juke Joint - BBQ, I go with the chicken thighs and smoked wings
El Barrio - Mexican
Automatic - seafood
Jack Browns - burgers
