Excellence has 2 resorts in DR and one in Jamaica. There are also plenty of AI AO resorts in these locations as well (more so in DR).

we stayed at Excellence Punta Cana about 10 years ago. LOVED it. good food, and the beach was awesome. Not the flat, stagnant water like in Mexico at some spots. Had decent sized waves that were relaxing, but still small enough where you could go out into the water no problem. We basically rotated from beach/pool every few hours all day long.

Excellence is a great brand if you are not working with a travel advisor I specialize in Caribbean all inclusive and have great options. My contact info is in my bio.

The rainforest/reef package is calling. We could definitely be semi-beach bums for this. The beachfront casitas. Wow. This looks fantastic, I have reached out! I'm not keen on transport via Cessna, though.

You can take the ferry if you like. Back when we went they didn't have the rainforest option. It was just the most chill place. There's actually an Aggie owned bar in San Pedro. Here's the view in the plane you take from Belize City to San Pedro.....

Easy 20 minute flight.

Here's some of the rest of the pictures from our trip. The resort is so small with only about 20 little casitas. The food was excellent. We were traveling with another couple. When we booked a snorkeling excursion through the resort we were the only four people on it. My buddy and I also booked a fishing trip and it was just the two of us. There aren't really any cars on the island. After you get off the puddle jumper plane, they put your luggage on one golf cart and you on another. They drive you through town to a dock. You get on a nice boat, they take a drink order and they take you up the coast for about 10 minutes. You get off the boat they hand you a cocktail and show you to your casita.
