Has anyone been to Moon Palace The Grand in Cancun? We are looking at going this summer with our kids and wanted to hear non-Reddit reviews. TIA

The beach is nicer in Galveston than Grand Moon. You can decide if traveling to Mexico is worth it for that. Probably the worst family vacation / disappointed I've ever been in a place

I LOVE Moon Palace the Grand. I have been twice and want to go back. I sell it several times a year to my clients as well.

I'm not gonna lie, the beach water sucks there. It is brown like Galveston and can be very murky. The beach itself is fine. With that said, sargassum can be bad here. While we never smelled it at Grand, we went next door to tour Moon Palace and when we got off the bus I was like WHAT IS THAT SMELL. It was horrendous. But they do a better job of cleaning it up at the Grand and also they have trees between the pools and beach at Grand but not at regular Moon Palace.

The kids club is awesome, and they water playscape for the younger kids is large. They do have larger water slides but they are very strict on height requirements, so depending on the age/height of kiddos, they may not be able to ride.

I think the food there is fantastic. My favorite is Habibi.

Sargassum is alot worse than last season and expected to be bad through out the summer. Something like 2-3x last season. Theyve already pulled more out since the start of the year than they did all of last season.

FML but oh well. I'd suggest going to a beach / resort that clears it daily and disposes of it off property. If not, you're going to be in for a bad smell.

I feel like they either a) did a good job of disposing of it at Grand b) the "trees" really blocked a lot of it or c) they hauled it all to the regular Moon Palace side.

I tell you when I got off the bus, it literally smelled like poop. I couldn't believe it. And I know they were working to clear it, but there was a pile at the end of the beach.

We only went to the beach once during our last stay and it was just to take photos. We spent our time in the adults-only pool, at the waterpark or just lounging.

I hadn't heard it was getting bad this year, that really stinks as the last few years haven't been that bad.
