Thinking about taking a trip there with the kids when school ends.

Ages 8-12

Places to stay?

Things to do?

Thinking fishing, canoeing, chilling

Looking at Loge at South Fork

Any other suggestions?

What's the tie to South Fork versus other areas?

Are you wanting to just chill, camp, and fish?

Are you wanting for us to suggest other areas (Pagoso, Durango, Ouray) that might have more to do?

Float the Rio Grande.
Go take a tour of the Last Chance mine on Bachelor loop above Creede.
Day hikes. Endless possibilities on empty trails if you avoid OHV areas.

Great sand dunes national park and zapata falls are an hour ish away. Worth the trip for the day. You can rent sand sleds for the dunes. It's exhausting walking up all the time but it's fun.

Been fly fishing the Rio Grande & South Fork since 1995.

Take a day to rent and drive a side-be-side RZR over Elwood Pass to Platoro and eat a hamburger there.
