We are traveling to Vancouver on the 15th and will be there 3 nights before boarding our cruise ship for the Inside Passage trip. My wife has a few things saved on Trip Advisor but I haven't really looked at it much.

Do any of you have any strong recommendations / musts for first time visitors there?
I am not the Six Million Dollar Man, but I might need that surgery. "We have the technology, we can rebuild him!"

Take the ferry to Victoria and Vancouver Island. A visit to Butchart Gardens is a must.

Yes, that was on her list. Is that an all-day outing?

That would be one full day. You can also see the orcas on the ferry ride.

Cool! We saw 3 pods of Orcas off the San Juan Islands when our youngest lived in Seattle 20 years ago. That spoiled us for whale watching. Nothing else compares IMO!

It's funny reading this because I'm traveling to Vancouver with my family today for 3 days before we board the Disney cruise ship. Great minds think alike!

Thanks for the tips everyone.

Day 1 update.

Breakfast by the harbor, watched some seaplanes take off and land, then off to Lynn canyon park for a 3 mile hike. Saw a couple of waterfalls and walked the suspension bridge. Lunch in town, then walked over to queen Elizabeth park. It's beautiful and no charge to visit. We did pay to do the conservatory walk through with exotic birds. Now off to hotel to relax before dinner. Ubers are expensive so would be nice to have rented a car this whole time, but parking doesn't seem to be the easiest so not sure which I prefer.

Trying to upload photos, but it's not working.

Wife and I are taking our 10 month to Vancouver at the end of July and was curious how many days you recommend to spend in Vancouver? This will be our first trip with the baby so just don't know our limitations but also, what all there is to do in/around Vancouver.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

Day 2 update:

Went to Stanley park and walked around with the kiddos. Saw the totem poles, lighthouse, and watched a seal in the harbor for a while. Took an uber to Granville island and walked through the market where we had lunch. Caught a ferry to science world, but mainly spent time at the playground. Ubered to Gastown and walked around there for a while. Had to drive through on Hastings st and see a bunch of homeless who were openly doing drugs on the street.. so definitely suggest avoiding that if you can lol

One tip: Your pay for ice tea by the glass. They did not tell us that. I drank $12 of ice tea and my wife $8 I was surprised when the check came.

And that was in 2004.

Day 3 update.

Pretty epic Mother's Day. The ubered to airport early to grab a rent car for the day and drove the sea to sky highway all the way to Pemberton with many stops along the way:

Sounds like you had a great visit. The weather is not looking good for us, flying up on Thursday.
