We are in initial planning stages for a 2 or 3 week loop around Florida this summer.

Will be in pop up camper with a 6yr and 8yr old.

I know it will be buggy, hot, and have dodge hurricanes but no time to do it in winter due to sports and school schedules.

I have following stops penciled in but looking for good ideas of places to stop or things to do aside from the obvious disney/universal: 30A, crystal river area, somewhere between tampa/naples, keys, orlando, and st augustine.

Would love to find a campground near a beach for the 4th where we can watch fireworks.

Their state parks are all really great....but it is a race to book them.

Get yourself a Sunshine Pass in advance (their tolltag) - it'll save you a lot of time

And the best campground in the country is Fort Wilderness.....even if you don't even go into any of the theme parks....your kids are thr PERFECT age

I have read great things about the Florida state parks like Anastasia, grayton beach, and bahia honda.

They reserve 11 months out for non residents so ive probably missed the boat unless i get lucky with a cancellation.

Great idea on the sun pass, it was pain dealing with that the couple times we went to Ft Pickens in Pensacola Beach.

What's so great about Ft Wilderness aside from easy access into magic kingdom and all of the resort perks like extra hours and fast pass?

It looks like a typical RV park with few amenities.

checkout thedyrt.com for a database of campgrounds. it's helped me out when state parks and corp parks are booked up.
