If you're traveling to the certain parts of the Caribbean soon I would recommend checking with your airline for notifications about cancellations, delays and rerouting.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued official safety restrictions (NOTAMs) that bar U.S. carriers from flying in parts of Caribbean airspace affected by military operations around Venezuela and nearby regions.

We have clients affected with flights the next few days and also clients that are currently in destination that cannot leave and will have to stay on island for possibly a few more days.

We are currently stuck in San Juan. This is a mess and Southwest has been extremely disappointing throughout this situation.

It may or may not help, but there are nonstop flights to Punta Cana tomorrow if you can get a flight home from there. There was a flight this afternoon but it appears to be sold out. American has a 10PM flight to Miami tomorrow out of SJU.

I appreciate you looking around. We ended up finding a Frontier flight to Miami and then Southwest from Miami back to Houston. We are paying for it but this is much better than the next available Southwest flight on next Sunday (1/11).

Do you have travel insurance? If so submit a claim. May not work but can try.

We were in St Martin and were supposed to fly home last Sat (01/03).

Ended up getting the next flight out on our airline (JetBlue)...yesterday on 01/09.

Had to pay to stay last week but found a nice AirBnB that was cheap. Also had some folks we know there get us a night that first night.

Not a bad place to be stuck....



Of course, our flight home last night was delayed out of SXM and we missed our connection to Austin. So, now we're sitting at a bar in Fort Lauderdale, over looking the beach and drinking Rum Runners until we head to the airport at 6 tonight.
