I was 75-150 in the lottery held in '24 for '25 and got in. IIRC I got notified in Feb of last year. It was an email to everyone in the bracket with a set of 5 dates and it was first come first served. You had to call them. I damn near jammed a finger dialing.

I was so far out of it I didn't even get an exact wait list position. Just "No Brooks for you!"

People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

I've gotten them for 3500-4000 and 7500-9000. But I've made it twice straight out and a third time from the waitlist.

You can't go if you don't try. I headed back in July.

I want to go back so badly but I've got a few big trips lined up the for '27-'29 summers. Once 2030 spots open up, I'll start applying every year til I get in.

Yeah, our 2027 is looking like it will be pretty full so I'm going to try to mentally spin this as an omen
