I'm thinking about taking the wife for a little 4-5 day getaway for Valentines and thinking Nashville might be a good option. Looks like downtown is the place to stay.

Any recommendations on hotels?

and surprise, surprise......Aggies happen to play at Vanderbilt on Valentines day...nothing more romantic that watching BuckyBall on the road!

Broadway is a cesspool of crowds and bachelorette parties but fun if you enjoy ducking into any random bar and hearing some great live music. Start looking at dinner reservations now since it all books up very early. Twelve Thirty Club highly recommended. Tour the Ryman, visit Country Music Hall of Fame, etc. If you want to go into Tootsies, use the back alley entrance instead of waiting in line out front.

Pick your hotel chain of choice and there are likely good options a few blocks from Broadway. Prioritize location over anything else, IMO. JW Marriott is probably the nicest option. The downtown Hilton is very convenient at a lower price point. Also lots of boutique options.

My sister-in-law lives in Nashville so we go 1-2x a year to visit. If we're not staying in an AirBnB with the rest of the family, we have loved:

- The Hermitage House
- 1 Hotel Nashville
- The Joseph

Great speakeasy bar options to break up going on broadway, but we've always had a great time in Broadway.

Try to time it to get a seat while the mid-evening band is packing up. The headliners go on at 10/11 and we've had the best time hanging out in one spot for their set. If you walk around you'll be fighting for a spot in just about every bar.

Speakeasy faves:
- Red Phone Booth (think I still have a contact with the passcode or just ask your hotel concierge)
- Fox Bar
- 1865

If possible, get reservations at Kisser for lunch/brunch

And I would stay at one of the hotels in the gulch.
Close enough to main downtown to walk, but after 9pm it's quite and you can sleep

We typically stay at the Embassy Suites by Vanderbilt which is closer to downtown, but without the crowds / cost.

They have a shuttle that will run you into town or just rideshare. Plenty of other places with things to do in the area as well.
