Anyone have experience flying Air Canada abroad? In particular their Premium Economy class?

I flew AC Premium Economy from Toronto to Vienna in December.

Boarding process was chaotic since it was a peak departure time, everyone was confused where the lines were.

I'm 5'7" and I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the seats were, worth every penny (or in my case points) above economy. Especially if you can get the 2 seats on the window side.

Food was underwhelming but I don't love eating on overnight planes so it wasn't a huge letdown. Good selection of alcoholic beverages.

Tons of movies to pick from. We watched home alone on our way to the Christmas markets.

I would have slept great but there was a medical emergency three rows behind me for most of the flight, but at least I was awake and comfortable.

I would do it again.

I have flown air Canada one time DFW-YVR. I will never fly them again if I have any other option. They cancelled my flight 24 hours out due o a couple inches of snow in Vancouver preventing the inbound flight from arriving at DFW. Their solution: DFW-Toronto-Vancouver. I spent almost 9 hours in the air that day…I could've flown to Europe in that time frame.

On the return flight, DFW had a little weather (what's new). We diverted to IAH where we spent the night and most of the following day there before. I've been diverted/stranded at the airport before…never for 36 hours.

One of the people on this trip didn't learn their lesson, and booked an air Canada leg flying to Paris. They were delayed several hours missing their connecting flight on the way home.

Bottom line: flying is brutal enough with airlines from capitalistic countries; don't compound your troubles
with socialist airways. I would've gladly paid the extra $80 to fly American looking back

I flew Air Canada twice...both returning from Italy.

The first time the entire entertainment system and Wifi was down for the entire flight. This was after an almost three hour delay.

I chalked it up to bad luck and tried them again the following year. They had to bump 30 people from the flight and asked for volunteers for 600 euros in cash and a seat on the next day's flight. I volunteered. I had to sit around the airport for seven hours while they tried to get me rebooked, find my bag, get me hotel, etc. Then, after the fact, they tried to change the 600 euros in cash to Air Canada credit. It took weeks of calling and complaining to finally get my cash. Luckily, there was a group of us in the same boat. They ended up trying to bump me again from the following day's flight and I just booking a return flight on with United.

Long story short...Air Canada sucks and I will NEVER fly them again.

Moral of the story: I was apparently lucky all I had to deal with was a lady in anaphylaxis for 6 hours.

Maybe I won't be taking that flight again.
