Sorry if there is already a topic on this, I couldn't find anything.

We are looking at Finest Playa Mujeres for my family of 4 (two teenage sons) for Spring Break. Has anyone visited or have any thoughts on it? What about the "preferred club" option?

Looks like Spirit Air is the best option to get there from DFW unless I want to pay about $1,500 per ticket on AA.

Looking to go March 15-19.

Thanks for the help

I typically recommend Finest Playa Mujeres more for families with younger children, as many of the kids' activities tend to be geared toward that age group. While teens can certainly have a good time, families with older kids have shared that if you're looking for more teen-specific programming or higher-energy features (like large water slides or more dynamic evening entertainment), a resort such as Dreams Playa Mujeres may offer a few more options for that age range.

That said, Finest is a beautiful all-inclusive with excellent amenities, a great beach, multiple pools, organized family activities, and a strong kids club program. For teens, it's usually enjoyable just not necessarily "thrill-packed." I'd suggest reviewing the daily activity schedule in advance to be sure it aligns with what your teens are hoping for.

I agree with Lauren. If your teens want activities, they will likely be bored. But the location is great as is the beach.

Dreams Playa Mujeres is a great option (as mentioned) as it has waterslides. Preferred Club gets access to the lazy river, but it is indeed "very" lazy. They have a teen club as well.

Moon Palace the Grand has lots to do for teens but the beach is not great (think Galveston - brown water than can be murky). I would not do regular Moon Palace as when the seaweed is bad, the resort is very stinky.

Hard Rock Riviera Maya has a waterpark and some things for teens, but the beach is coved and not like the regular waves on a beach. And the rooms are small unless you get a family (connecting) room.

Iberostar Selection Maya Paraiso isn't higher end, but it does have a nice beach (if no sargassum), waterpark and things for teens. I recently had a Texager go and he had great things to say.

If I can assist my email is in my profile.

We've taken the family (four kids between 8-16) twice, and our kids love it. Feel free to DM with any specific questions.

I agree with Lauren and Jana, Finest is great but I think teens would get bored there. When I say r with my family my girls were 9 and 8 and felt not a lot of kid activities. Dreams Playa Mujeres has a 7 night minimum for Spring break week as I have had several clients have to go elsewhere.

All of these that Jana recommended are solid! I would also add if in budget XCaret Mexico is always a hit with teens

This is great feedback, thank you. The Xcarat looks great, but probably a little too expensive. Can't pull off seven days either.

I think we are willing to sacrifice the beach if there is a great pool, then things like pickleball, etc for the kids. We are also looking at four nights.

Based on this, I would look at Hard Rock Riviera Maya and Iberostar Selection Maya or Lindo. The other level Ibero's do not get access to the waterpark.

Well scratch that, both are sold out (or have min # of days).

Based on what is available those dates, honestly I would probably lean towards Finest. The Fives Beach Resort has availability, but Finest would be better IMO. Finest does have 2 pickleball courts.

Not sure what the ages of your boys are, but if one is 12 or less, it does open up opportunities (including Dreams Playa Mujeres).

Thank you again. I have an 8th grader and a junior in high school.

Been to Finest 5 times. Your oldest kids would be bored.

Younger kids, and couples will have a Blast. Food and drink, in my opinion, are fantastic at Finest!
