Aruba lately - summer travel and safety

I love Aruba and feel like it's an easy choice, especially being somewhat familiar and comfortable there and it only being the second international trip for my kids.

If you have been recently, what was it like? Proximity to Venezuela has me a little on edge.

I've been to Aruba 3 times I think over the past 7 or so years, most recently last July. It felt no different than before.

We've tossed around Aruba as a possibility but have heard that it can be a pain to get to and from given its proximity to Venezuela.

Not a problem at all. Just don't fly to Venezuela. There are direct flights to Aruba.

Definitely not concerned about travel there or back. We were just curious about safety given proximity to Venezuela and recent events.

The issue was the amount of USA military force around in the region. Now that force has moved to the Middle East.
