Going to Europe in 50 days and all of our devices are Apple products through AT&T. What is the best economic way to stay in contact?

Yep. International day pass for $12/day only on days it is used on first line and $6/day for other lines on same account. AT&T may require you to have an unlimited plan in the US to get day pass, but then you get unlimited talk, text and data with the day pass. Might even be worth upgrading to unlimited for a month if that is possible.

Esim for the best price. Can still receive messages for things like two factor authentication and make / receive wifi calls without incurring the fee. I've used Airalo, but there are several options.

Easiest option is AT&T day pass like mentioned if you don't mind the cost.

Unless it changed recently, you don't need an unlimited plan. I have a limited data plan and use International Day Pass regularly.

Get an eSim as long as the phones are unlocked.

We do this every time we go. Usually pay ~$20-30 for 14 days with 20 GB access. Way cheaper than $12 every day especially if you are gonna be there longer than a week.

This is who we usually use

We used Orange Travel last year. It was seamless, just hit activate when we landed. works between all the countries. You do need unlocked phones.

I agree with Wangus. For long trips, an eSim makes more sense. I use Holafly

Thanks for all the replies. Since we have locked phones, we will just go with the AT&T international program

Airalo and RedteaGO for me. I've used both, more recently RedteaGO due to nicer prices and same reliable service.

May be cheaper to unlock your phone and get an esim depending on how many of the 50 days you're going to be using it...

Visa Signature cardholders also get a Free GigSky esim, like once per month per card - you can google the details. We used it on our last trip and it worked great.

Unlocked with an eSIM sounds the cheapest in any scenario, but note the AT&T international day pass caps daily charges at 10 days per billing period. That means I got unlimited everything for $120 per month. May be pricy, but easy.

The easiest is usually the option your current provider offers, but rarely will that be the cheapest.

We used Airalo and RedteaGO last summer in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands. They both worked great.

You didn't read OP closely. In 50 days is not the same as For 50 days.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough
