We are going to vacation in Hilton Head in June. Only thing planned is golf and a day trip to Savanah for museums, etc. Is there anything else in HH area that we should look into doing?

You're a 2 hour drive to Charleston, which is one of my absolute favorite cities in the US.

If you're into history there's Ft. Sumter, Drayton Hall and McCloud Plantations, and the fantastic H.L. Hunley Submarine Museum.

The food is exceptional, and if you go I'd suggest downloading a walking tour map of city.

Enjoy your trip!

Savannah is awesome. I'd spend a day down there NOT doing museums. Just walking, cruising, bar hopping, etc. We enjoyed riding bikes one morning and seeing things off the beaten path in downtown area. On Saturdays there is a big farmers market at Forsyth Park that is worth checking out if you can.

If you have a car Beaufort is a cool town to check out and spend the day in not too far from HH.

If you're big golfers I also suggest driving to Kiawah and checking out the Ocean course even if you don't want to pay to play it. Eat and hangout at the Ryder Cup Bar/Clubhouse. It's a fantastic setup and the drive there is worth it alone.

Great recommendations. Forgot about Kiawah.

Yep, it's nice. Great lunch spot and watch golfers finish on 18.

Great suggestions. I'll be at Hilton Head in July for a weekend. I'm not a golfer but I won a golf trip. Any suggestions for golf courses?
