Never going back.

Not for more than a week or so, anyway.

I miss 37 years of family and friends.
I miss only being 4-5 hours away and not 16 from Kyle field.
I miss only getting to make 2-3 games a year.
I don't miss 95 degrees in May. I don't miss 95 degrees in October.
I don't miss San Angelo looking like a dust bowl barrio.

Will either keep a home in the hills of TN and come to visit more oftne when we retire, or sell everything here and travel full time in a 40' motorhome making it to Kyle as needed, Angleo for holidays and be where ever it is 70-80 degrees the rest of the time.

Long answer, but not an easy answer to the OP question.

I can't wait to get back. I'll take 95 in May and October over snow September-May. Most of all, I miss the Mexican food.

Me...but I will also miss this place when I move. I'm still trying to figure how to bring the two together in one place.

I miss some aspects of Texas, but I think you actually appreciate it more living away from it. Personally I don't have much of a desire to go back. Sure, I hate reading about everyone else's weekly trips to Kyle Field during football season, but I do know that I appreciate the one or two games I can make it to probably more than season-ticket holders.

As for the food, it is probably better for me that North Carolina doesn't offer too much competition.

You keep telling yourself that. This season ticket holder appreciates going to Kyle on a regular basis.

I miss Texas, sure!! But, I have finally found somewhere I "fit in" here. So I'm happy here! Plus, I'm blessed to get to visit back home multiple times a year. So that helps.

I miss Texas terribly. I have never been so sick- literraly. Everything here is in full bloom and I cannot talk or breath very well. I never got this bad in texas- thanks to the built in humidifier there We moved here in 1997 and I had my first severe allergy attack in 1999. I could not talk for 6 months! Ever since then I get this bad at least every year and a half or so. I NEVER thought I would ever say I miss the humidity in texas but I do.
Thank god for Texags or I would be going complelty crazy stuck here.

The only other place that I have lived where I liked it as much as Texas was DC

I, personally, cannot wait to move back, but I'm a company man right now. At most, it will be 16 months until I'm back.

After a week where it doesn't get above 5 degrees, 95 in April or October doesn't sound too bad. Just my $0.03

I wouldn't say I "can't" wait to get back but, I am looking forward to it immensely. Especially with the series with the Hogs beginning in '09 it will make it a little uncomfortable living in Fayetteville much longer.

I'm working on the fiance right now. She's from Michigan and grew up in Europe. Its hard to get the anti-Texas bias out of her. If not, I'm putting my foot down for either DC or Atlanta. I will not be staying in SoCal.

Grew up a military brat, so other than finishing high school and college in Texas I have no roots there. My parents live in Austin now, so I visit The Lone Star State 3-4 times a year. Texas is a fine state, but I kind of feel sorry for the people that lived there their entire lives. It's a big world out there!

Well we are living the military life out in SC and soon to be in VA this summer. I missed TX initially when I married my husband (and the Navy) and moved away. But now everytime I go home, I get smothered by my family and have to answer the question, "So, when are you going to have a baby?" every 2 minutes. I'm only 26 for goodness sakes, chill! Don't get me wrong, there are things I miss about TX, but I think progressively moving further and further away right now is sounding pretty good.

Ewww, my dog just tooted.

Like Mrs., I miss aspects of Texas, the most important being close to friends and the Ags.

But, again, give me four seasons any day of the week, Catskill mountains just an hour north, the country's largest city an hour to the south...I like it here just fine. Right when I get used to it the Army will move me away again.
