I have been told by my company to relocate in 2 weeks, the project site is near Norco. Does anyone know of a good place to live in the area? I am a single 24 year old male, so an area with young professionals would be preferable. Thanks!

How far are you willing to commute? I've got relatives in St. Rose (east on river road or airline) and that's a pretty sleepy area, not really a big young singles scene that i'm aware of.

Where are you working? A good buddy of mine did his residency at the LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans. He lived in the Garden District on 8th and St. Charles. There are tons of huge plantation homes that have been made into condo / apartments. Very reasonable rent and just a few miles to The Quarter (easy ride on the St. Charles Street Car).

So, what did you end up doing? I moved to nola a month ago.

Mup, what part of town did you settle in?

Uptown. Closest semi-major intersection is Napoleon and Saint Charles.

Have you been to the Circle Bar or Saint bar yet? Good stuff. The Bulldog is a pretty solid plac that always has sports on as does Cooter Brown's

I move to nola about 2 months ago and live right by Napoleon and St. Charles as well! Does anyone know if there is an A&M club here?

the A&M club is always hit or miss here in nola. When they actually have a group, for some reason they choose the Fox & Hound for football game get togethers. It's in Harahan.

I haven't been to Circle Bar yet. I know where it is but haven't been in. If by Saint Bar you mean St. Joe's, I go there all the time. Bulldog and Cooter Brown's are frequent stops as well. The porch at The Bulldog, if not too crowded, is hard to beat. Also, The Midcity Bulldog on Wednesdays is great. Fat Harry's is a short walk from my house so that is another favorite.
