Which city should experience more population growth in the next 2 - 3 years. I can go either city for the same job and am curious.

With the Haynesville Shale play really starting to ramp up I would think S-port is keen for an economic up-turn, which leads to growth. Don't know much about Tulsa though, so take that for what it's worth.

I hope S-port is due for this b/c I am moving there in a few months. I like the potential economic boost, but don’t want a huge population influx. The many movies that are being filmed there isn’t hurting anything either. It's a sportsman paradise that much is very true.

i have spent time in both, grew up in E. TX near S-port and spent some time in Tulsa for work, Tulsa is 10 times the town as S-port. don't know who will be better in 5 years but...

If you move to Tulsa, stay away from the north and east sides of town. You will thank me later.

Definitely Shreveport

I know a guy who is moving there, just got engaged to a girl from there

Visited a few times: casinos, fishing, etc.

Lake Bistineau is awesome.

Agree. Tulsa is not bad. I go to Shreveport every 2 months or so to visit my wife's grandparents. We typically get there around noon on Saturday, hit up the casino for buffet and gambling, and go to Johnny's Catfish for dinner. I feel like I've had my fill of Shreveport when it's time to leave the next day. I know a few Aggies from Shreveport with no desire to ever go back. That said, I am sure the outdoors activities add some fun to Shreveport if one is into that.

The Bossier City side of the Red River is FAR better than Shreveport.
Great fishing and hunting around the Shreveport/Bossier area. Caddo lake, Cross lake, Bistineau, Cypress, Black Bayou, and a number of other lakes within close proximity. This is truly the sportsman's paradise.

Cost of living is better here than most everywhere else. Housing market is good for buyers. And most importantly...football is big here. The High Schools in the area are very competitive.

Frankly, the Shreveport area is practically an annex of Texas. More Cowboy fans here than Saints fans.

Tulsa is family friendly, very easy to get around. There is lots to do. Several lakes close by, OKC 1 1/2 hrs away. St Louis a few hrs, Dallas 4 hrs. Traffic, for the most part is a breeze. Tulsa does have 4 seasons. The only thing is the local sports radio stations are entirely LOCAL minded. Very much OU, some OSU and not much coverage of the rest of the Big12.

Just got back from Shreveport. My gosh, it is always so depressing driving through East Texas.
