I'm going to Philly in a few weeks for a conference and am trying to figure out where the best place to get an authentic philly cheesesteak is. My conference is at Villanova and I don't have much time to get away during the conference...but I'll have more than a few hours to kill at the airport between checking in and actually having to board. I thought about taking the SEPTA into the city around Market East or 30th St from the Airport. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I believe Pat's and Geno's are the 2 most famous Philly cheesesteak places. Maybe there's one near the airport? Or even at the airport?

Pat's and Geno's are a long way from the Main Line, where your conference is. There used to be a Jim's Steaks in Manayunk which is relatively close to where you are staying, and it is a pretty neat area. You will get a lot more of true Philly flavor down in South Philly at Pat's and Geno's, which are only about a block apart, and very close to the sports complex, which will be jumpin' if you are there during the World Series.

I'm still shocked that "authentic" cheesesteaks have CHEEZE-WHIZ on them!
