Hey guys, I've been offered a position in Oklahoma City with the company I currently work for. Overall, what can you tell me about the city? More specifically, the office is pretty much in Edmond, OK. What do you recommend in terms of living area (apartments) near the area, or just good place to live overall?

I have lieved in Edmond for 20 years. Great community, outstanding schools. Three high schools, roughly 100,000 people. It is the Northern suburb of OKC. Only place to live in the metro in my opinion. If I can provide further info post heare.

Great info! If I'm working in Edmond, is Edmond the place to live? Or do you recommend another suburb? I've heard that OKC is compartmental, so there are several nice areas to live in. I'm looking for an apartment at least for my first year here. What do you think?

I would shoot to live in Edmond. Not a lot of apartments in Edmond, but there are several houses for rent. We have a college in Edmond, Univ of Central Oklahoma If you are looking at OKC I would focus on NW OKC area, out around the Memorial Road section, there are some apartments in and around that area. In the North OKC/Edmond area there are some newer apartments along Broadway Extension (Highway 77) just south of Edmond.

As far as other suburbs, the only ones in the OKC area I would really consider are the Mustang/Yukon area onthe west side of OKC.

Edmond is a quality place to live, just make sure that you avoid living around the Purina plant or you'll need to buy glade plug-ins in bulk... It's a great suburb, though, and it's reasonably priced if you find an apartment or something.

Haha! Thanks for the Purina Plant info. Our office is just a stone's throw away from the plant. It's not that bad, it just reminds me to feed my dog when I go home for lunch, lol.

From what I've seen this past week (I went to scout the area), Edmond does seem like the best place to live. I think I found some decent apartments off of 77. I'm going to check'em out tomorrow. I have to move within the next two weeks so I hope I like them.

Thanks for all the info guys, I greatly appreciate it!

Once you're situated, you should check out Bricktown. It is OKC's best kept secret as far as I'm concerned.

Class of 2007
Shawnee, OK

...and here I thought I was the only Aggie in the OKC area...

I'm curious as to how many ags live in (near) OKC.

I used to go when I got free tickets when I worked for the advertising side of my company. Pretty good time.

Has anyone made it out to the "Aggie Happy Hour?"

I haven't heard of one in a while but maybe I'm not on the list anymore.

I did go to one a couple years ago when I just moved here and it was fun.

Went to the last one... The people at the bar didn't even know what "Aggie Happy Hour" was, lol. The whole event wasn't very organized.

Anyways, I know this is late notice, but is anyone watching the K-State game? Are there any bars that might be showing it?

I'd be up for something in Edmond for a basketball game or a happy hour after the new year. Maybe go to BWW off Danforth and Santa Fe for some basketball.

I live in OKC, NW side, which is pretty good on most days when there is not a blizzard. Law Office in Bricktown for any Ag needing some help (or needing some great free parking)

Bethany Ag here!

OKC is a good place to live and work. I've been here since I was transferred here in 1992. Edmond is about the only area that has any traffic.

NW OKC is a good place to live. Close to Edmond and your office.

Only negatives is all you will hear up here is about zeroU. It is "homerville" for those land thieves. And fricking tornadoes. Holy crap, come spring all that is on TV is storm chasers. We've had two hit our area since 2003...took my huge tree last time...thank God my house and my family were unhurt.
