I know this is a long shot but I am moving to Milwaukee in three months and was wondering if there were any Milwaukee Ags out there. I've never wanted to move to Wisconsin but the AF in all its wisdom has decided that is where I need to be for the next three years so I'm taking the plunge.

Any info on the area would be a huge help! Thanks.

Milwaukee is a great little town as long as one can stand the winters. I lived there for 2 years after college.

I can try to answer any specific questions if you have them.

Just trying tofigure out what side of town to live in. I have heard there are some rather unsafe areas so I want to try and avoid those. I found a nice place near Sheridan Park but I'm not sure that is a good spot. Right now that is my biggest concern. I'm sure more questions will come up as I get clsoer to moving.

In general, north suburbs (brown deer, mequon, thiensville, etc.) are the wealthiest. Western burbs (Wauwatosa, Brookfield) are the normal everyday suburbs with most of the new housing going up in Waukesha. One of the downsides to Milwaukee is the lack of a great highway system--the 43 and 94 get really crowded in the morning and evening and it can be tough coming from/going to downtown. I have heard that the new Marquette interchanges has helped a lot though.

In the city itself, downtown and near the lake are really nice but can get pricy. The south side (Cudahy, St. Francis) and out by the brewery are the oldest parts of the city and are pretty blue collar--lot's of guys named Stan. North of North Street up to the northern city limits is the 'hood. Stay away.

My wife and I will be moving up to Milwaukee in mid may. Nice to know we wont be the only Ags in town!

My Aggie friend is moving from Milwaukee to Dallas in July. You know, just in case any of you are interested in buying her downtown condo.

I will be moving to Madison in June. About an hour away, so I'd be up for some Ag events.

Yea I haven't seen any A&M Clubs there either, there is one in North Wisconsin though. I might join the Chicago Club.

I found out last week that I'll be working in Oak Creek, so I now have a good reason to live out in the burbs, I think I found a nice little house in Waterford. I have a coworker checking it out for me this weekend, I hope it all checks good!

My wife and I talked about starting a Milwaukee area Ags club since we are moving up there soon. At the very least sounds like there are some Ags to maybe watch games with.

Well my wife and I made the move up here last week. We found a nice remodeled duplex in south Milwaukee. It's definitly an older blue collar feel but lots of very well kept older homes kind of reminds me of some parts of old east Dallas. I do like the fact that am very very close to the lake and all the old cars and bikes now that it is warm. My wife is a chiropractor starting her practice up soon. We are looking at places all over, haven't really settled on any certain area. My in-laws live in franklin which seems to have lots of growing space. So far we are enjoying the cooler summer weather though, can't say I can complain about that.

Madison is going great so far! There's another Ag - A c/o 2010 girl - who started at the company with me. If anybody is in this area, let me know!

I moved to Oshkosh 10 years ago. Tried to start an A&M club, but there was very little interest.

Just moved to Milwaukee. Would love to get together for any Aggie games, etc... Was dissapointed that there was no Milwaukee Ags club.

Sorry it had taken so long to get back to you, I'm all settled in here now, this sure ain't Texas but it ain't all that bad. People laugh at my accent some times but they all seem nice enough. What side of town are you living in?

Madison update:

I have met three coworkers (and there may be more at a 4,000+ employee company) who are former students.

My roommate and I have a projector screen and surround sound set up, so we will probably host game watching events at our place.

Not sure if Milwaukee people will ever have the urge to drive to Madison (but you should, it's a great town!).

I would be interested in forming an A&M club, but I think it would have to be a consolidated effort. Doesn't sound like Milwaukee, Madison, or any other city nearby has enough interest to go alone. Anyone have any thoughts/ideas about this?

Well there is an Eastern Wisconsin Chapter so I think having a Western Wisconsin Chapter makes sense. I'm deffinately interested since I am only an hour and a half from Madison.

Did you mean the other way around? Because I know there is a Minnesota/Western Wisconsin club, but no club actually based in Wisconsin (let alone Eastern Wisconsin). I think Chicagoland is the closest thing to that half of the state.

I think my plan is to watch the OSU and Arkansas games at my place in Madison. Yall are welcomed to make the trip if you think it's worth it! In the future, I would not be opposed to coming to Milwaukee for games/events. Also, my company just asked me to start recruiting A&M grads, so maybe my group will grow!
