Might be moving out there in the next few months. Anybody live there right now and could give me their honest opinion of the place?

I moved to Phoenix last April from Houston. We bought a house in Anthem which is North on I-17. Anthem is a community with lots of amenities, water park, work out facility and lots of parks. The community center has a lot of classes and rec leagues. Phoenix is HOT, make no mistake, but when I compare a dry 110 degrees to a wet 98 degrees, there really isn't much of a difference. You are miserable in either. When you add that there are no mosquitos in Phoenix, it might come out ahead. If you want to escape the heat, Flagstaff is usually 20-20 degrees cooler and it 1.5 - 2 hours from my house. There is a lot to do, there are several lakes north and east of the city. Great parks around town. Plenty of hiking. I don't check this board very often but if you have any questions you can pm me.

I just moved out here last week, and am enjoying it thus far. Seems to me like this is an area with a lot of money, and a lot of the commercial areas reflect that. Now, I've mostly stayed in the Tempe / Scottsdale / Chandler area, but across the board here, it seems pretty nice.

Other things I've noticed are that the people have been pretty friendly thus far, the traffic hasn't been bad, and it's hot, really, miserably hot.

Thanks for the advice. I'm currently in Houston myself. Seems like a great opportunity. Other than the heat, I've heard nothing but great things. I'll PM you both if I decide to make the move. Thanks again.
