superior bar and grill has a good happy hour (margaritas...although i'm not so much a fan of their food) blind tiger is a good bar type place downtown herby k's is a good local place monjuni's is a local italian place - although their sauce is a little too sweet for my liking earnest's is a good fancy pants place strawn's is a local eatery southfield grill is a good "home cookin" place noble savage tavern is a good place downtown - they usually have a lot of wild game on their menu..they usually post it on facebook for the week tokyo and shogun are both hibachi places. i enjoy tokyo more but shogun has been around longer.
as far as things to do there isn't that much besides the casinos. the boardwalk is on the bossier side of the river and it has some chain restaurants and outlet shops. there are a few art galleries around. if you google you can find them. the minor league season is about to start up. the mudbugs play at the centurytel center in bossier. you could also check into the show schedule at the strand theatre. they've got different things going on there - sometimes plays, ballet, comedians etc.
In addition to the places above, I like Johnny's Catfish but it's on the edge of town. Cheeburger Cheeburger is money for so money reasons: great burgers w/ tons of free toppings, good fries and onion rings, and great milkshakes (100 toppings and you can put as many as you want in the shake).

Neither did I, but the odds are probably pretty decent that he is. I assumed there was a good chance the OP was from TX, kind of like you assumed the OP did not want chains. I think there are 20-25 Cheeburgers total, so the odds are pretty low that there is one where the OP lives.
