I drove through there on my way home this month. Obviously, it is larger than Weatherford, and the college is bigger. However, it does not have a DFW to go look for action. It has nothing....what you see is what you get. It didn't even seem that close to real mountains. I was shocked that in places I-84 was 5 lanes each way. We went through early in the AM, so not sure how much of that is used.

That's all I got!

Boise is.......interesting........

From an outdoors perspective, it's a pretty good place to be. It's sort of arid out there, but it's a 1/2 day from lots of spectacular places. Winters are much colder than central/west Texas.

As far as the social scene goes for a 20yr old, I can't put my finger on it, but Boise is kinda funky. I don't know if it's because of the whole combo of Mormon/Hippie/Survivalist cultures, or just the fact that it's...Idaho... At least there's BSU.

Also, cost of living is cheap out there compared to other cities of the same size in the northwest.
