When I lived in SE Alaska as a kid, we got something like 80 days of sunshine per year... Seattle is MUCH better than that. Summers are GREAT!
By illuminance, I mean actual amount of light (candellas) that shine on the surface. Because of the marine climate here, it stays cloudy for much of the year, which allows less light. By comparison Nome, AK gets about the same amount of solar illuminance, but that's because winters near the arctic circle are really dark...
Don't get me wrong: Seattle is my home and I like it here. Just know that people who move up from the South, especially, find our long rainy season (Nov-Apr) to be quite depressing...
