I am moving to the Tulsa area directly after gradution in May as my girlfriend got a job with ConocoPhillips. Currently deciding between going to law school or getting a job. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions/connections with the job network in Tulsa. Any advice would be appreciated.

Oil is big in Tulsa. What's your degree in? Tulsa is an alright town.

Degree is in Communication. Unfortunately the jobs options in this area were a lot more plentiful 4 years ago when I picked a major. However, as of now I am looking to do basically anything. With Tulsa being big in Oil, I was looking at my options in that industry.

Oil, BOK, QT, and health-related fields are the biggest employers I know of in Tulsa. The Kaiser Family Foundation might need some communications-type folks. You could also get on in corporate communications at BOK.

I moved to Tulsa back in September as I got a job with an oil and gas company here. I haven't been here very long but I like the town so far. Tulsa has quite a bit to do: they got minor league sports (arena football, hockey, baseball) lots of bars, biking/hiking trails, a river runs right through town, casinos, and really nice golf courses. Conoco Phillips is in Bartlesville which is only 45 mins away. I know a couple of people that work in their IT department.

If you are interested in law school, I know University of Tulsa has a pretty good law school but I hear it is expensive. I have a friend at OU law school just south of Oklahoma City which is less than 2 hours away. There is also the Oklahoma City University School of Law. Those are the only three law schools in Oklahoma.

For jobs in Tulsa, there are a lot of oil and gas companies, banks, education and healthcare. I can try to see if the company I work for has any need for communications majors but I am fairly new and I know we are trying to cut costs. Here are two websites I found that have some of the other companies in town:

If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks for all the info. I am currently looking at all job options while waiting to hear back from University of Tulsa Law school. Not sure if I really want to go to law school so I am keeping all options open. In the meantime, if anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.
