Lived in Spirit Lake a couple years ago. Small town, but really grows in the summer due to the lake population. We loved it and go back fairly often. Why are you moving there? Polaris? Pure Fishing?

As for Aggies, there was one other Ag that I knew of that was the head fiswh research guy at Pure Fishing.

Well, I said Spirit Lake was a small town, but Harris is even smaller. I had to look it up on a map. Have you already started your home search...I could recommend a couple real estate folks in the area if you wanted. When are you moving?

I am an Aggie down south from you here in Ankeny. Only been here about a month and a half. Good to hear more Aggies coming to Iowa!

Sorry for the delayed response.

According to the Aggie Muster page there is one in Des Moines and one in Cedar Rapids.

http://www.aggienetwork.com/muster/search.aspx

The only A&M Club in Iowa is located in Cedar Rapids.

Edit: Actually, after digging around I found a group called "Central Iowa Aggies." Can't find any info on them though.

I was just accepted to graduate school at the University of Iowa so I'm going to be moving to the Iowa City area in August. I'm coming straight from A&M (I still can't believe I'm graduating in less than a month....) but I'm definitely going to want to get connected to an A&M Club when I get there. Maybe it will ease some of the culture shock!

From my experience, there isn't much culture shock to deal with. Iowa is sort of parallel to Texas in the farming community sense. The people are really nice and if you're in a good neighborhood it can feel just like home. Now, they still aren't Texans, so don't be surprised if no one comes greeting you with a pie while you move in.

You will have to get used to the weather, but I bet you're already expecting that!

For me, this was a good thing when I moved out of state.
