Does anyone live in this area? I may be looking to move and was curious about locations I should look at. I heard the schools are good, but which areas have the best schools? What is an average home price in the area for a 4 bedroom?

Well, I moved away in 1998 so my info may be way outdated. Back in the day, blue valley school district was by far the best.

Trulia or Zillow would be your best bet for home prices.

I can second Gator's comments. I left for A&M in '96 and my parents just left the area two years ago. Blue Valley consistently has some of the best schools around.

Third for Blue Valley. Wife lived in Shawnee, KS prior to getting hitched.

Blue valley schools are great.

My wife and I moved to the area almost 3 years from Los Angeles to be closer to family--she is from the area--as we have two small kids.

Overland Park is great, and Olathe is a good area too. Both the Blue Valley and Olathe school systems are top rated.

I haven't watched the housing market closely after we bought our house 3 years ago, but prices are down a little bit since we bought. My guess is a 4-bedroom house would be around $300k depending on the size and features. There are both existing homes and new homes going up on the edges of town.

Glad to find this thread. Myself, wife, and two toddler daughters are moving on pretty short notice to KC and taking up residence in a friend's rental in Mission until we find a place to buy - likely Overland Park.

I am surprised with as many Ags that live in the KC area that there is no Aggie Club. Might be time to get one rolling.

My parents were involved with the Heart of America A&M Club for game watching parties until they moved out of the area two years ago. I think it's a fairly active Club.
