Looks like work will be sending me up there for about a 3 month assignment with a possibility of a permanent relocation if things go well. Office appears to be about 2 blocks from Coors Field but not sure yet where the corporate housing is. What can I expect with the area around the office, who wants to hang out, and are there any other suggestions.

I know there are Denver threads all over here but my search won't send me far enough back to bump them.

KT,

I accepted a contract position (with the possibility of permanent hire) today. I won't know a soul there. I should be there by June 20 or so. I haven't lined up any housing and will be trying to keep my costs down to send the money back to my family in Dallas until the permanent offer.

I'm excited and by all accounts i've been given, you should be too. Great atmosphere, great weather (until it gets real cold) and lots of outdoor activities. I too will be just a few blocks from Coors field at Noble energy. Send me a PM if you want to go for a beer.

Check out the Denver A&M Club... always a lot of activities going on, and a great way to meet people: http://www.denveraggies.com/

You should get plenty of responses here from other mile-high Ags, but feel free to email me with any questions kitchings @ hotmail.com.

I work a block from Coors Field, and you guys will love this part of town.

I will be at the Halliburton office right there so we will all be around the same area. I have already joined the e-mail lists and checked out the website for the Denver A&M club.

Looks like corporate housing for me for the first 3 months and then a strong chance to go up there permanently depending on how I like it and how things go. Like you said, I won't know a damn person there and hardly know anyone in that office so this will be an experience.

I don't have PM but you can shoot me an e-mail at italianaggie at gmail dot com.

what kind of places do you like to go to?

LoDo has a lot of really cool places. Coors Field/LoDo is a great area to be in.

KT,

Based on your profile interests, you should love it here. Denver is the best city in America, in my opinion. Rockies' games are awesome, and you can get $5 tickets in the Rock Pile. The weather is hard to beat: the average high/low on the 10-day forecast is 78/56. We have some of the best breweries in the country within 60-90 minutes (many of them in Denver): Left Hand, New Belgium, Oskar Blues, Odell, Avery, Great Divide, Coors, Tommyknocker, Breckenridge, and many more.

I love working downtown, as it is very clean, safe, and alive compared to any Texas metro. People are really active here because there is so much to do. There are tons of day trips, and you can get to about 10 ski resorts within 60-90 minutes.

This is the 1st or 2nd biggest Aggie city outside of Texas, and the group here has happy hours and game-watching parties.

Actually headed there on Monday. Will be settling in and staying downtown the first week or 2 while the company tries to secure corporate housing. Will be dealing with some other people visiting for a few days from our Houston office and then will eventually have to come back to Houston to get my dog.

I will let everyone know when I get settled and then we can plan a meet and drink.

I came from Houston too, and you're in for a treat. Expect a huge upgrade in quality of life. It was 73* or less when I got done golfing 2 days this weekend, with 30% humidity.

I need a place to watch the game tonight. One of the other girls from houston is coming up later this afternoon so I might be dragging her around with me.

Places to watch the game:
LoDo's
Tavern Downtown
Blake Street Tavern

There are many more places to watch, but these are a few off the top of my head.

Just now leaving, flight was delayed. Staying at the crowne plaza downtown. Going to be cutting it close on the game.
