Any Aggies in San Diego, or anywhere along the coast(skipping Orange Co./LA)?

I will be traveling to San Diego for 2 weeks for vacation, a conference and a triathlon.
I'm interested in hearing about any off the wall local eateries or non-tourist places to visit, Anyone a member of the La Jolla Cove Swim Club or the La Jolla Athletic Club? I'll be swimming the 1 mile buoy lane daily.
I'm also interested in hearing your perspective on local economy & any GIS leads.

I'm traveling to California too, but unfortunately, I'm going to Inido which I'm guessing is not exciting.
