I'm considering an opportunity in Columbia and will be visiting in the next two weeks for interviews. My wife and I are in our late 20's with a 5-year old daughter. If the position is offered, we will be locating from San Antonio. I do know the COL is significantly higher, but I would like to find an area that caters more to family living. If anyone could provide any information, it would be greatly appreciated.

sorry didnt see this, hope you had a good trip, i coached high school volleyball there and it is very expensive especially compared to san antonio, havent been back in 15 years (we are military) but when i lived there the centennial HS area was the nicer area and the closer you got to BW parkway and southern howard county(hammond hills area) lower economic; out west is country area, drive through there to see my brother in PA and cannot believe how much is grown, sorry cant be more help

Howard County is expensive, especially compared to TX, but it is a nice area, has good schools and good property values. Rockburn Elementary is a great school and there are some family oriented town homes around that area in Elkridge, Ellicott City, and Columbia. Catonsville is another area to consider wih a young family. Good luck!
