I live here in Madison. It's great when the weather is nice, but it's starting to get cold. Saturday morning's are good for the farmer's market by the capitol, go inside the capitol and admire the art/architecture, stop by the Essen Haus for a good time at the German-style beer hall (complete with polka). The Sugar Distillery or the Malt House are good for sampling great liquors. Capital Brewery in in Middleton makes some good beers. Ale Asylum, the Great Dane, and New Glarus breweries are good too. The town of Spring Green is known among Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiasts, and Wisconsin Dells has indoor waterparks and casinos. Go for a stroll in Madison's arboretum if it's not too cold. State Street is the college shopping, dining, and nightlife district.
