Was out at Tulsa Hills trying to get a little Christmas shopping done at lunch and I saw it... they have opened up a Freebirds in Tulsa! Had to stop in and while it isn't the "original" I remember, my regular (called it a Freebird now?) steak tasted much like I remember!

Just wanted to spread the news!

I remember when there was only one Freebirds in Texas...and it was right across from my dorm.

They basically pulled the one out of Norman and moved it there. Damn you Tulsans

I thought there was one in Norman, but when I found out there was one here in Tulsa... I checked and there wasn't... so guess they did move it! Good deal for use in Tulsa!

It's nice to have the bird in Tulsa but it's not the same. The Texas Ave. Freebirds will forever be my gold standard. The Tulsa Hills location is stingy with their portions.

I agree it wasn't the same as going back to Aggieland for a Monster... but I did enjoy some of the memories the taste brought back and I plan on getting back there again (sometime - still haven't been back). I would guess the proportions are more regulated not that its being run by a restaurant company... oh, well - like I said still enjoyed the experience!
