And to the OP:
Tulsa strengths: Tight community feel, Non-existent commutes, wonderful/non-pretensious people, very good schools, decent hiking/biking areas, George Kaiser and the guy that's revitalizing downtown (forget his name) are working pretty hard at growing the artsy fartsy stuff, country music scene if you're into that isn't bad
Weaknesses: not great for a young, single (though, I was a young, single and didn't hate it. Just got plugged in luckily), not much respect outside of the state (meaning if you want to transfer out, Tulsa and the companies there might be looked down on), nor much night life or restraunts, no sports outside of OU/OSU/thunder, the roads SUCK, the tolls SUCK, not nearly as many educated people roaming around. The weather can be VERY extreme (as in 0-115 is a normal range for temperatures as well as the tornadoes)
All in all, I'd say it's great place for a conservative, young family to be if you don't have aspirations to one day move to a much larger city.
