We are moving to Knoxville this summer for my wife to begin graduate school at the University of TN and we are looking for any info on best areas to live and where not to live.

We also are looking for recommendations on day care for our 2 kids.

We plan to move in July.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Feel free to drop me an email at psoasmajorman@yahoo.com

We live twenty minutes south of Knoxville in Maryville. Been here three years...moved from DFW. Surprisingly, there are a few Aggies around here. Bumped into one tonight in fact while I took the family out to dinner.

I strongly suspect you'll be renting and probably pretty close to campus. Like all places, there are good and bad places. Stay away from Magnolia Avenue and also East Knoxville. You may want to think about areas south of the UT Campus, which may put you into Blount County (which is where Maryville is located).

All in all, life is pretty good in this part of the country. The people are friendly and the scenery is spectacular.

If/when we move back, we'd probably live in Maryville. That's where one of the sister-in-laws live, and its far enough out to feel a bit rural but close enough to all the amenities.

Toddy Hill, email me at screen name at aggie network dot com.

Will be in K'ville on Saturday at Gander Mountain at Turkey Creek with my Corvair for a car show. ( assume work doesn't screw me )

I live in Cleveland, but come to your area often.
