Hey California Ags,

I'l be spending the week around Thousand Oaks after dropping my kid off at camp. I plan on hitting the beach in Malibu, and Santa Barbara if the wife comes out for the weekend. In the middle of the week I was conidering some day hikes in Los Padres. Any recomendations?

Also an amatuer photograher. Any must shoot places?

Cabins to rent? Really not locked into any one place to stay as long as its an hour or so drive to Thousand Oaks.

Thanks in advance for some recomendations on how to spend my week alone in Cali.

Grew up in Malibu / Thousand Oaks. For photography I would absolutely make sure to go to Temescal Canyon, Solstice Creek, and Leo Carillo State Beach (there are some rock formations there that form caverns and get flooded with the coming and going of the tide. You're also close enough to go hiking around Griffith Park / Hollywood Sign in LA, which if you haven't done before, you really ought to do it.

Thanks Malibu! Exactly the kind of advice I'm looking for.
